Emma has dedicated 27 years to working in social care, with 20 of those specialising in technology-enabled care (TEC). She’s passionate about improving lives through practical and innovative solutions, combining her knowledge of the adult social care sector with a user-centred approach to technology, she understands what’s needed to embed TEC into social care settings that delivers meaningful outcomes for individuals while maximising value for organisations.
Over the years, Emma has led the introduction, spread and adoption of a wide range of technologies, delivering increased independence and improved health and wellbeing for people living in supported living and residential care. Her work has included leading on the implementation of TEC as part of major transitions, such as moving people from large campus-style environments to community-based living.
Emma has also led and partnered in a range of research and development projects, helping to create and enhance technologies designed for people with learning disabilities and other vulnerable groups.
Emma launched and led Hft’s Personalised Technology Consultancy service, where she supported local authorities, housing providers, and care organisations to implement and sustain TEC. Her work spanned stakeholder engagement, co-production, workforce training, TEC implementation planning, outcomes measuring and project management. She also played a key role in the evaluation of national projects, developing tools to assess the impact of TEC, using this data to evidence outcomes and inform future initiatives.
Throughout her career, Emma has built strong relationships across the social care and TEC sectors, working closely with a wide range of stakeholders. At the heart of everything she does is a passion for making a real, positive difference to people and the organisations that support them.
