Mandatory Courses

Emergency First Aid at Work Level 2

This course is for any employee who is required to become qualified First Aider.  Participants are required to pass practical and oral assessments and after successful completion of the course will be presented with a certificate of all-round competence which is valid for three years.  The subjects covered during this course are as specified by the Health and Safety (First Aid) regulations, 1981.

By the end of the course learners will:

  • Have covered resuscitation, treatment and control of bleeding
  • Have covered treatment of shock management of the unconscious casualty
  • Understand contents of first-aid boxes and their use, purchasing first-aid supplies
  • Have covered transport of casualties and recognition of illness
  • Have covered treatment of injuries to bones, muscles and joints
  • Have covered treatment of minor injuries, treatment of burns and scalds
  • Understand eye irrigation and poisons
  • Have covered simple record keeping.

 

 

This course is available on an in-house basis for up to fifteen members of your team. 

Prices from £625 (ARC Members) and £725 (non-members) plus trainer’s expenses.

Fire Safety Awareness Workshop

 

 

This course is aimed at staff that will assume the role and responsibility of being a Fire Marshal/Warden and has been developed to suit the needs of various occupational sectors. 

By the end of this workshop learners will:

  • Be aware of legal responsibilities including mandatory fire checks
  • Understand the role of the Fire Warden
  • Understand fire prevention and containment
  • Be able to review fire evacuation procedures, fire escape route and assembly points
  • Consider how to implement evacuation procedures to safely include disabled persons
  • Be able to understand and differentiate between the different classes of fire
  • Understand the range of fire fighting equipment and their application to particular situations.

Food Safety Awareness

 

 

 

 

This course is aimed at anybody wishing to have an awareness of food hygiene.

By the end of this course learners will:

  • Appreciate the importance of health and safety in food premises
  • Be able to identify a range of hazards associated with food premises and understand how to spot them
  • Understand the role of reporting procedures
  • Understand the importance of risk control measures
  • Identify ways to reduce risks or eliminate hazards.
