Mental Capacity Act & Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (MCA & DoLS) Workshop for Frontline Social Care Staff – 6 March 2026

This full-day course delivered via Zoom providing information to help Adult Social Care staff understand the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and their implementation throughout the social care sector.

Attendance at both sessions is compulsory.

The training course is aimed at  front line staff

Using discussion, debate and case studies the workshop will cover the following:

  • Increasing awareness of the Mental Capacity Act
  • Understanding how the Act impacts people who have a learning disability and those supporting them
  • Understanding how the Safeguards impact on people who have a learning disability and those supporting them
  • Recent developments
  • Knowing where to access further sources of advice and support in relation to the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards
  • Discussion, debate and case studies

Trainers,  to support trainers to deliver MCA & DoLS  training to care staff using ARC training materials –  1 x 3 hour session plus 1 x 2.5 hour session.

In-house workshops

We also offer this workshop on an in-house basis exclusively for your organisation.  One of our expert trainers can deliver this training course online for up to 16 people per session.   Please note that for in-house MCA/DoLS Trainers’ workshops there is an additional cost per Trainers’ Manual).
