The Association was established in 1980, as a limited company in 2015 and rebranded in 2024. Up until 2023, the association was run by registered care providers/proprietors on a voluntary basis. Local funding secured in 2023 enable the association to recruit a small paid team on a self employed basis.
We have to raise funds through our membership base, commercial sponsorship and projects. We re-branded in 2024 to become more inclusive and offer membership to non-CQC registered providers including supported living, extra care, shared lives and PAs. Our membership base is growing year on year, currently at 39 which represents approx. 42 services and is made up of largely independently owned, single services or SMEs who provide care and support needs in local communities. A proportion of our membership supports people with learning disabilities and autistic people.
We offer information and signposting support, share best practice and knowledge to champion high quality support, host events and webinars, lobby and advocate on behalf of our members on local, regional and national matters that affect their service. We are currently developing a training offer to our members that reflects local needs and hard to source speciality training to support our local workforce with recruitment and retention.
