MacIntyre

MacIntyre is a national charity supporting children, young people and adults who have a learning disability and/or autism.

MacIntyre was set up by the parents of a disabled child in 1966.  Since that time working with parents, carers and families has been at the heart of the way we work.

We know that, whatever contact they have with MacIntyre, the one thing that means more than anything else to the people using our services is the way that we interact with them, every day and in all situations.  Great Interactions™ is the name MacIntyre gives its award winning, skilled way of working involving practice, feedback and reflection.

Our services include:

  • Residential support
  • Dual registered service providing nursing care
  • Support to live at home
  • Day time learning activities
  • Shared Lives
  • Full-time, day and flexible residential placements at our school near Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire
  • Personalised further education programmes of learning in partnership with local colleges

Our vision is for all people with a learning disability to live a life that makes sense to them.
