Condover College is a small charitable organisation, which provides services for 90 young adults. Residential accommodation is in a number of small houses (3-5 residents) in Shrewsbury and surrounding villages. Our Education Centre is in Shrewsbury. Provision is offered for between 38 and 52 weeks per year. After the three year “Design for Living” course we guarantee open ended provision with a full programme of life enhancing activities. Holidays, including continental trips, are provided for 52 week residential learners. We hold regular open days.
Our three year “Design for Living” course focuses on developing communication, social, personal and independence skills enabling our students to develop a valued and enjoyable life. Engagement in the local community and using local community facilities (including local mainstream colleges) is central to our provision.
We have in-house speech and language therapists, physiotherapists and visual impairment specialist tutors. Most residential rooms are en-suite and ground floor rooms have ceiling tracking. Physiotherapists construct hydrotherapy programmes, which are delivered weekly as part of the curriculum.
