COVID 19 Fast Barred List Check Service Ends

The legislation required to bring the COVID 19 Fast Barred List Check Service to an end has been successfully laid in parliament and will come into force on Thursday 11th May, 2023, as a result Wednesday 10th May, 2023, will be the last day for any COVID 19 Fast and Free applications to be received by the DBS.

Therefore, organisations should ensure that any COVID 19 applications are with the ARC Disclosure Service for countersigning before 2 pm on 10th May, so that they can be sent to the DBS in time.  Any COVID 29 application received on the 10th Jmay, that have queries/errors may be delayed, resulting in them not being sent to the DBS on time and therefore being rejected.

From Thursday 11th May, 2023.

  • Only applications for qualifying Volunteer applications will be free of charge
  • Organisations must only include “COVID’ or “Coronavirus’ in the position applied for field where this terminology forms part of the official job title

Where employers require urgent adult barred list information they should revert to using the pre-existing Adult First barred list checks.

Children barred list checks will no longer be available through the fast track service.
