We have received the following important information from Disclosure Scotland.
Viewing disclosure results
When Disclosure Scotland have completed an application, the applicant must give their permission to share their disclosure with ARC (as the countersignatory) and you the organisation (employer). The applicant can do this through their own online account. An applicant has two weeks from the date of issue of the certificate to do this.
If the applicant has encountered problems when sharing, please advise them to contact Disclosure Scotland at response@disclosurescotland.gov.scot. Please ask them to include ‘APPLICATION SHARE REQUEST’ in the subject line alongside their application reference number. This will allow Disclosure Scotland to identify requests and resolve any issues quickly.
All enquiries must include the applicants name, date of birth, first line of address and reference number to avoid unnecessary delays.
Applicant email address
Disclosure Scotland have noticed that some applicants use their work email address to create their Disclosure Scotland applicant account using their ScotAccount.
Please ask your applicants to use their personal email address if they have one. This should be an email address that only they can access.
Once your applicants provide their personal email address, they can then access email notifications associated with their Disclosure Scotland applicant account more easily. For example, when outside of working hours or when absent from work. This will allow them to complete an application, view their disclosure and then decide whether to share their disclosure or apply for a review.
Common questions website article
Disclosure Scotland have published an article that covers the common questions that organisations regularly ask and provides the answers to those queries.
