**NEW** Assessing Medication Competence in Social Care: Refresher Training

If you completed your medication competence training more than two years ago, we recommend this new workshop as a cost-effective way of refreshing your training, making sure that your competency assessments are still fit for purpose, and extending your skills and expertise.

ARC’s new refresher training takes only 1.5 hours to complete, and costs just £50pp for ARC Members and £65 for Non-members.

The online workshop, delivered by experienced trainers, is fully interactive and will support you in :

• making accurate assessment judgements,
• applying good recording skills
• standardising practice.

Learning outcomes
By the end of the session, you will be able to:

• explain the role of the assessor in medication competency assessment
• identify evidence of safe and person-centred medication support through a scenario activity
• have knowledge of the competency and assessment guide, and record more confidently
• judge whether a staff member has demonstrated competence
• write clear assessor comments to support their decision
• identify gaps, risks, and follow-up actions
• take part in a standardisation discussion with other assessors
