Together4Change wants a Charter4Change!
- A Charter will help us with our rights.
- It will tell people what we want.
- It will help us get better lives.
- It will help us get better services.
- It means Change.
A Charter will bring us together as a single, national, powerful voice for Change.
What we want to do
We will co-produce a national Charter4Change with people with learning disabilities and autistic people (supported people) across England, then use it as an organising and campaigning tool.
The Charter will be written by supported people and set out their vision for how they want to be included in their communities and how they want their support services to be provided.

The Charter will bring supported people together to build strong relationships across our communities.
Matt Lester (Co-Chair, Together 4 Change) says:
“I want a charter for England as there is not one and think we need a charter at the moment as I fear that it the end of social care. By having a charter for everyone we can make things happen and fight for our rights and we understand where we come from and everyone has respect. We have to have a charter for England as it is a big issue at the moment and hope to get everyone involved and work with everyone in the disability world and grow to make it good for people being supported .”
How we will make the Charter and what we will do with it
- There will be events around the country. These will be led by supported people working with their peers to produce the Charter.
- We will connect with local co-production initiatives.
- We will produce resources about the Charter and how it can be used.
- We will work with experts on campaigns to tell people about the Charter.
- In future years we would like to enable supported people to use the Charter as a tool to tell politicians and people who plan services what they want.
