Staff joining the Social Care Workforce in eligible roles as of the 1st October 2022 until the 31st March 2023, will have their PVG Check fee waived by Disclosure Scotland.
Applicants may be eligible to have their PVG fee paid if the application is starting a new job in:
- Certain roles within the social care sector
- Comparable roles in Justice and children’s services
To qualify the applicant must:
- Have started a new job or taken up a new position with their existing employer in an eligible role (Please see tables below)
- Have applied for a PVG check between 1st October 2022 and no later than 31st March 2023 – applications outside these dates will not be eligible.

In all other cases e.g. if an organisation is rechecking existing staff, PVG costs must be paid as normal.
How to apply
If your organisation is eligible to have these fees waived they should apply in the normal manner by completing the ARC PVG Application Proforma Form and in the ‘position applied for field’ type “FSC” followed by the name of the actual position the applicant has applied for.
Disclosure Scotland will then ensure that you are not charged for this application and the application will be prioritised.
PLEASE NOTE: That you will still be charged ARC Admin fee £13.50 ARC members or £15.00 non-members for each application.
