In preparation for Advocacy Awareness Week 2025 and all of the brilliant work to support people that is done by our members and across many sectors, ARC England have launched the *BRAND NEW* ARC Independent Advocacy Recognition Certificate!
The ARCÂ A.R.C. is designed as an entry level Certificate and enables people who advocate to have their knowledge and skills formally recognised and accredited.
It’s the perfect place to start if you’re starting out as an independent advocate or are looking for a role as one and would like a recognised qualification. It’s also for anyone who currently works alongside or uses advocacy services, or if it is a part of your wider current role. It’s a great way to develop your workforce and it helps to improve support for people who draw on your services.
Advocacy qualifications equip professionals with the skills to:
- Speak up on behalf of individuals who may struggle to express their needs.
- Ensure supported people understand their rights and choices.
- Empower people to make informed decisions.
This is especially critical for vulnerable adults, such as those with learning disabilities, mental health issues, or cognitive impairments.
Our course has an easy-to-follow format, which can be studied in your own time, at home or at work. You will work through a distance learning pack using our online e-portfolio, and then complete some questions to show your understanding. Included in our distance learning pack are activities, scenarios and handouts, to help consolidate your knowledge and understanding, whilst taking the learner through the learning outcomes of the certificate, all with the support of a personally allocated assessor.
